ice storm flowers
We're getting an ice storm tonight...with possibly 3/4 of inch of ice. plus sleet. Yesterday it was 63 degrees. Go figure. I'm just ignoring this ice business and painting flowers. I splurged this year and bought 3 giant amaryllis bulbs, 'floris hecker' is the variety. They peaked around Valentine's day. The flowers had the most amazing, intense reds, I felt like I should have thrown a party to celebrate them. Here are a few pictures. Next post: some new flower paintings.
