Come see me this weekend in Portland, Maine at the 45th Annual WCSH Sidewalk Art Festival. I will be at site K-6 on Free Street right near the Portland Museum of Art. The weather will be fine and this should be a fun and lively event. I'm working on a few new pieces to bring (hint...more chickies in the works) In the meantime...here is another from my initial series of chickens.

I think I've mentioned before that I've been pining for my very own flock of backyard chickens for a while now...we thought that this was the year. My daughter even picked out the names (Marigold for one!) for our yet to be born half dozen brood. Things got hectic, as life does, and the chickens were put on hold for another year but I've been painting them...and it is so much fun. I love learning about all the breeds. This girl is a buff orpington, known for their friendly, docile demeanor.

I'm off tomorrow to paint at the lovely Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, NH. Wet paint sale and reception on Friday, hope to see you there! I'll post pictures of my work later this week. In the meantime, here is another piece I did at a paint out last year on Contoocook Lake.
