through the trees

Got back at my easel today after a few (welcome!) days of respite with family. I finished painting #76 in my 100 paintings for the holidays project. These are a couple more in my "through the trees" series. I don't think I'll ever tire of trying to capture the beautiful shapes of intertwining branches, a winding country road, and the dappled sunlight coming down through the leaves.

some cheer for a dreary November day

Here's a little series of sunflowers fresh off my easel as part of my 100 paintings for $100 or less project. I'm getting close to being 75% of the way there...this has been a great challenge and I thank everyone for the terrific response so far. Lots more to come...more birds, winterscapes and whatever else I can dream up. These little sunflowers look great in groupings.

Sharon Arts Center ~ featured artist

I am the featured artist for the month of November at the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough, NH. If you haven't been there, it is well worth the trip. The gallery has a wide selection of talented regional fine arts and crafts all set in charming downtown Peterborough. A quintessential New England village with a great book store, shops, restaurants, antiques...you get the idea.

the lake below

Here's a little series inspired by a larger painting I did for a plein air paint out last summer. The event was to benefit the Contoocook Lake Preservation Society and the artists had many amazing private locations along this lovely lake opened up for them to paint. These small paintings are part of my 100 painting project.
