more poppies

"poppies on blue IV"
oil on canvas ~ 10 x 20 inches
I took a break from my peony series to do another poppy piece. I'm hoping to get outside for some plein air painting this week if it would ever stop raining! It's been a wet spring and summer so far. Warm weather is a long time coming up here in the Buffalo area...I'm ready for some warm summer days.

Walking Nature's Paths

Here are a few photos from our redFISH gallery show. I'm doing the show with my sister-in-law, Cindy, who is a fantastic pastel artist. It will hang until July 25th, so those of you in western New York...come check it out! Also, starting this week I will be moving my studio to redFISH...I'm very excited about having a bigger space and interacting in a great community of artists.

Walking Nature's Paths: paintings inspired by the natural world

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive. ~Eleonora Duse

last of the vase series

"sunflower on blue"
oil on canvas ~ 12 x 12 inches

I meant to post this before...I have a lot of new work that went into my show. This is the last of the flowers in vase series. 2 of the 3 sold on opening night, so that was a great boost! I'll post some more photos from the opening soon.

first peonies

It's been hot and humid here all weekend. My peonies went from tight, closed buds to bursting open overnight. I spent the day on my porch, surrounded by vases of peonies and painted. Glorious spring!
