I've learned a lesson or two this month. This whole painting a day thing is killing me. I love the idea of it. What a great way to get some discipline in the studio, try out some new techniques, media, not angst so much about subject matter, etc. Just do it. Well, life has intervened a bit (motherhood, cooking, cleaning, life in general, not to mention a husband going out of town for extended periods of time).
So, my painting a day has turned into just painting more. Today, I went back to watercolors for a while. My daughter and I spread our supplies out on the kitchen table and went at it for a couple of hours. I love the energy and quickness I can get with watercolors. Still trying on getting that same effect with oils. I see glimpses of it here and there. Here is some of today's work:

These are GREAT!!! Very loose and lively...they'll look great framed! Really LOVE the crow pix, especially the sideview portrait with those dark watery downward strokes. Lotsa personality comes through.
Love the birds ! Especially the Waxwing and Crow #4. Nice technique, very loose. Do more !!!
